In the last blog i talked about how you can save gas and gain horsepower without having to get rid of your older car or gas guzzler, by up-grading your air filter component. In this blog i am going to elaborate on a few more things that can save you money at the pump and make your car last longer. Besides the air filter up-grade you can up-grade your spark plugs, spark plug wires, exhaust systems, distributor/coil packs, lowering kits, tires, hears, pistons, mass air-flow sensors and other computers in the engine bay. When you up-grade the air filter it allows the air to fuel mixture ratio to even out more which allows better combustion, but when you up-grade your spark plugs and wires it expands the explosion inside the combustion chamber. Up-grading spark plugs to double platinum or even quadruple platinum allows there to be a wider and deeper spark in the combustion chamber which results in burning the fuel mixture more thoroughly. When you get that bigger explosion it sends the pistons down quicker which produces more horsepower with out using more gas, which in turn saves money and doesn't rely on you having to fill up your tank as often.
when it comes to your ignition systems it always helps to upgrade it. the hotter and more powerful the spark is in the combustion chamber the more power your car is going to have. when you can get more power out of your car with the same amount of gas your cars computer realizes this and feeds less fuel to the injectors. certain ways of upgrading your ignition system are spark plugs, spark plug wires which give you a hotter spark, ignition coils or distributor upgrades which also help with a quicker spark and a longer spark. those are just a few easy things yo can install or replace on your car that upgrade your ignition system which saves you gas and helps maintain your engine which lets your car last longer.

how to better your gas mileage with out buying a new car
in todays economy gas prices are alot higher then they use to be back in the day. about twenty years ago they where around 1 dollar. today they average around 2.75 a gallon. the goverment stepped in and instead of tell the oil companys to lower there already high oil prices they decided to crack down on teh car companys. they told chrysler and General Motors and Ford to start making lower end cars that were more fuel efficient and less pricey to compete with toyota and honda. so those car companys went to the drawing board and came out with hybrids to compete with the other car companys. with the gas prices rising and people not making enough money to keep filling there cars up all the time they started to buy more fuel efficient cars.
this is the reason the government started the cash for clunkers. well believe it or not it was more expensive to trade in or sell your car you had,if you where still making payments on it, and buy a new car. the only time it was worth buying a new hybrid was if you already had your car paid off that you where driving. so if you are reading this and you are still making paymenys on a SUV or something that doesnt get good enough gas mileage for you and you want to buy a new car. DONT! unless you are rich and can afford it, it is not worth replacing your car with a new hybrid. i am about to tell you how to turn your gas guzzler into a hybrid that isnt as expensive as buying a new one and going through all the hastle of trying to sell your own car.
First you can start off by replacing your stock air filter with a K&N air filter or a cold air intake. this allows your engine to breathe more and perform better. when you buy a new car the air filters are cheap and made of paper and starve your engine of air. this makes robs your engine of power and gas mileage which in the long run is bad and ends up costing you more money. with these two types of air filter up grades you are now allowing your engine to breathe and retain more air. when you get more air to the engine and at a faster rate and higher vilosity you end up getting a better fuel to air mixture ratio. this allows the combustion of the new and improved mixture to be more substantial and powerful resulting in more horsepower. this also allows the computer to recognize that more air is coming in and starts useing less gas, which in return gets your vehicle better gas mileage and enables your engine to run longer.

this week on cars
christmas break was a bust for me because i ended up on having to fix my car and my sisters. My sister had her license for only 5 days and wrecked her 2005 mustang. over 4500$ in damage. she was fine but it took over my entire month break. I had to rip apart the car and figure out everything that was wrong with it. on this car everything is controled by a computer and a massive wiring harness. well of course about two thirds of the harness was cut in a bunch of different places. I had to cut all the excess wiring out and take a soldering gun and melf lead on the wires to get a connection. after that i came up with a list of parts and ordered them from zimmer motors. i got all the parts and paint and cut the inside of the car in with the paint which consists of the inside of the fender, hood and the shock tower. that is how my christmas break went.
